Keurboomstrand is a small community with a charming, seaside village atmosphere, where older traditional homes nestle amid mature trees interspersed with modern ones lining the quaint street beside the ocean.  There is a timelessness here, conducive to a slower pace of life.  Houses also dot the steep hillside that gives a protective backdrop to this special place.

One cannot describe Keurboomstrand without mentioning its well known restaurant where the  road ends, and the boardwalk overlooking the beach takes you to a spacious deck where traditional Mediterranean hospitality serves you the best of Italian cuisine, while you drink in fabulous views of the Bay along with your glass of wine.

The beach is spectacular with huge rock formations where children love to climb, and where seagulls protest at the invasion of their privacy. A walk along the cliff top takes you to the famed Arch Rock where at high tide the waves gush through, but when the tide is out you can walk on the sea side, exploring the rock pools alive with mussels, crab, and octopus. This is where the Matjies River flows into the sea, and the shallow estuary offers a favourite, safe swimming spot for children. Further up the river, shaded by the cliff overhang, you can enjoy a peaceful picnic.

Keurboomstrand offers an outdoor lifestyle surrounded by nature, with opportunities for a range of activities - swimming, kayaking, fishing, riding, and hiking - you can even hike along the beach all the way to Nature's Valley. Or you can just laze on the pristine golden sands, watching the seabirds wheeling and diving overhead, and perhaps spotting seals, dolphins, or whales frolicking in the shining waves.  The balmy climate is perfect for families who love to spend time together out of doors.

The small, friendly town of Plettenberg Bay is only a ten minute drive with all the amenities you need - shops, restaurants, services, and schools.
